Lynch Architects was founded in 1996 by Charles “Chuck” Lynch in Amarillo,
Texas. From its inception, the firm has emphasized a commitment to
thoughtful design, close collaboration with clients, and a strong connection
to the communities it serves. Over the course of three decades, the practice
has developed a diverse portfolio encompassing residential, commercial,
institutional, and community-focused projects throughout Amarillo and the
Texas Panhandle.
The firm’s growth has been shaped by long-term client relationships and
repeat engagements, often involving projects that evolve over time through
renovations, expansions, and phased development. This experience
has fostered a practical understanding of how buildings and campuses
function in active use, and how early planning decisions influence long-term
performance and adaptability.
In 2017, Spence Lynch and Denise Lynch joined the practice, marking an
important milestone in the firm’s evolution. Their involvement strengthened
the firm’s leadership and expanded its capacity while preserving the
collaborative, client-focused values established at its founding. Today, Lynch
Architects operates as a multi-generational practice, blending institutional
knowledge with fresh perspectives and an ongoing commitment to design
quality and thoughtful planning.

Throughout its history, Lynch Architects has remained locally rooted with a regional reach. The firm continues to focus on architecture that is responsive to context, respectful of resources, and shaped by the people who use it—an approach that has sustained the practice for more than 30 years and continues to guide its work today.

We strongly believe in starting our design process with a comprehensive Master Plan that captures the client's long-term vision on a large scale. This Master Plan is then systematically divided into achievable building phases. By taking a holistic approach and envisioning the project's potential for the future, we guarantee that our present efforts will not require redoing in the future, thus saving valuable time and resources for our clients.
